An alleged sexual predator was arrested after he tried to grab a 14-year-old Long Island girl as she walked home from school. Marwan Hanna was spotted slowly driving his van down Main Street in West Babylon Wednesday evening when witnesses say they saw the man begging a teenage girl to get into his vehicle. The near abduction was halted when a man walking down the sidewalk saw the driver touching himself as he talked to the young girl.
Upon seeing the perverse act, the Good Samaritan yelled at the van driver, which caused him to speed away from the scene. Moments after the man sped away police were able to track him down and place him under arrest.
The man and his vehicle also fit the profile of another complaint filed a week ago by another teenage girl who claims to have gone through the same situation of being followed and nearly abducted.
The New York Post reports that Hanna was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and is due back in court on September 26.
