- Mets spent the 4th of July in Toronto and sent Corey Oswalt to the mound to try and split the short international, interleague series.
- Blue Jays got on the board first in the bottom of the second when Kendrys Morales smashed a solo HR, 1-0 Toronto.
- Mets tied it in the top of the third when Brandon Nimmo singled home Kevin Plewecki to tie it at 1-1.
- Blue Jays Lourdes Gurriel singled in a run in the 4th and the Jays were back on top 2-1.
- Todd Frazier put the Mets in front for the first time on the night with a two run HR in the 5th, 3-2 NY.
- Mets added three more in the inning wih RBI Singles from Jose Bautista, Asdrubal Cabrera & Michael Conforto and it was 6-2 NY heading to the bottom of the 5th.
- Corey Oswalt was done after 4, Seth Lugo came and and would be in line for the win if only the Mets could hold the lead.
- Blue Jays got one back on a fielder’s choice by Gurriel in the bottom of the 6th, 6-3 Mets.
- The Mets bullpen did the job tonight, keeping the Blue Jays at bay the rest of the way and giving the Mets a win on the end of the two city road trip, 6-3 the final.
- Mets are off on Thursday as they come home and get set to open an 11 game homestand at CitiField that will lead up to the All Star Break. The Tampa Bay Rays are in first on Friday night, first pitch 7:10 pm, Mets on Deck LIVE from the Citi Field Plaza with Pete McCarthy starts at 6:05.
