An EMT killed in the line of duty in 2017 is being honored on Friday.
There will be a street naming and plaque dedication ceremony at 169th Street and Boston Road for EMT Yadira Arroyo. She was killed in March 2017 after a man hijacked her ambulance and allegedly ran her over.
Arroyo was a mother to five children.
Mayor Bill de Blasio, Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro and other elected leaders are expected to be in attendance. A large gathering of FDNY members are also expected.
A trial is pending for the suspect, Jose Gonzalez. He remains behind bars.
