Harvey Weinstein is scheduled to be back in court on Tuesday for arraignment.
He’s expected to plead not guilty to charges of rape and forcible criminal sex act. A grand jury returned an indictment last week after Weinstein previously turned himself into police last month.
The famous movie mogul is accused of raping one woman and forcing another to perform oral sex on him.
"Mr. Weinstein has always maintained that any sexual activity he engaged in was consensual. He has vehemently denied any of the allegations which suggest that he engaged in non-consensual sexual activity," Attorney Benjamin Brafman said after Weinstein turned himself into police last month.
The charges come seven months after a series of allegations were made by women in an article by the New Yorker. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office began investigating the accusations of Lucia Evans and a second woman.
Evans claim that she was forced to perform oral sex on Weinstein, while the second woman alleges that she was raped.
“I said, over and over, ‘I don’t want to do this, stop, don’t,’ ” Evans told the New Yorker. “I tried to get away, but maybe I didn’t try hard enough. I didn’t want to kick him or fight him.”
Weinstein is free on $1 million bail. He was ordered to wear a monitoring device and can’t leave New York or Connecticut.
