- Jason Vargas got the start and was better than expected on short rest.
- Mets got on the board in the 4th, Adrian Gonzalez doubled in Jay Bruce and the Mets had a 1-0 lead

- Tim Peterson came on in the bottom of the 6th for the Mets, making his Major League debut, and had a 1-2-3 inning against the heart of the Braves!
- Mets tacked on another run when Brandon Nimo knocked in Amed Rosario who tripled to get to third and it was 2-0 Mets in the top of the 7th
- Johan Camargo got one of the runs back with a solo home run in the bottom of the 7th, and it was a 2-1 game.
- Adrian Gonzalez knocked in another run in the bottom of the 8th after the Mets had loaded the bases, but they couldn’t tack on anymore.
- Jeurys Familia came on in the bottom of the 8th. He got into a semi-jam with runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. Amed Rosario snagged a hard hit grounder and with Asdrubal Cabrera, turned a key 6-4-3 double play to end the threat.
- Brandon Nimmo doubled in another run in the top of the ninth. 4-1, NY
- Robert Gsellman came on for the save in the bottom of the 9th and retired the Braves 1-2-3. Mets win 4-1.
