The Mets were hoping for a second straight solid effort from Jason Vargas and despite giving him a 3-0 lead before he ever took the mound he couldn't hold it and left the game after the third inning with the game tied at 5. Jacob Rhame, AJ Ramos and Chris Flexen proceeded to throw gas on the fire and the Brewers hammered the Mets the rest of the way highlighted by a 7 run 7th inning where Chris Flexen did his best to take one for the team that desperately needed to keep the bullpen fresh with three more games in two days. In the end the Brewers knocked in 17 runs on 19 hits and the Mets have lost two in a row. They will wrap up the 4 game series Sunday, first pitch 2:10 PM, Mets on Deck at 1:05.
