- On a rainy afternoon in Flushing, the Mets found themselves behind early as Zack Wheeler gave up a solo Home Run to Justin Smoak in the first to put the Amazin’s behind 1-0 before they even got to bat.
- The rain was constant thought the first 4 innings and at one point in the bottom of the third an “unofficial” delay came as the grounds crew added drying agent to the field as the rain continued.
- The wheels fell off Wheeler after the “delay” as he gave up a 2-run home run to Teoscar Hernandez in the 4th, 3-0 Blue Jays
- Josh Donaldson added an RBI Single and Justin Smoak knocked a two-run double and Wheeler’s day was done, Mets trailed 6-0.
- Robert Gsellman came on and closed out the inning with no further damage.
- Josh Donaldson added an RBI Sac Fly in the top of the 6th inning and Teoscar Hernandez added an RBI single, 8-0 Toronto
- Kevin Pillar wrapped up the scoring in the 6th with an RBI Single 9-0 Toronto
- Richard Urena hit a three-run home run in the top of the 9th and the Toronto lead was 12-0
- Finally the Mets got on the board with a solo Home Run by Brandon Nimmo in the 9th, which would provide the final score 12-1.
