Client Unhappy With Matchmaking Service Goes to Court

Michael L. Fleischer is suing the matchmaking company LastFirst after it failed to find him a soul mate even after he paid the firm $24,000 dollars. Mr. Fleischer, who lost his wife to cancer in 2009, oversees a $3.5 billion real-estate practice at the firm Sterling and Sterling.

Fleischer claims the representative from LastFirst promised "They were going to introduce me to amazing people and help me through the process." And they guaranteed they'd be able to have him in a relationship. Fleischer admitted that the matchmaking company did introduce him to women but "none of whom were particularly special or different than anybody else."

Fleischer also told the Manhattan Supreme Court that LastFirst failed to provide him with the services included in the $24,000 dollar package which were, wardrobe styling, life coaching, personal training and relationship coaching.

An article published in the New York Post quoted Mr. Fleischer saying he's on the look-out for a "life partner for the ups and downs, the good and the bad, the fun and sadness."

Fleischer, a tri-athlete said he is interested in tall blonde athletic women. Fleischer's lawsuit seeks repayment of the original $24,000 dollar sign up fee and an additional $100,000 dollars in damages.

Representatives from LastFirst did not release a statement on the lawsuit.
