Three alleged graffiti artists wanted for vandalism in Spain were tracked down and arrested in New York City today. Richardo Espinola-Martinez, Ignacio Dominguez, and Manuel Cobano- Pareja were caught and charged with two counts of criminal mischief, making graffiti, and criminal trespassing.
The 3 men, all Spanish Nationals were tracked down by the NYPD with help from Interpol officers. The international agency has been tracking the criminals for months trying to put an end to their vandalism spree.
The suspects were seen painting a storage area at the 168th Street subway station on April 11 by the MTA Security Team. The MTA notified the NYPD and police rolled surveillance video on the crooks as they vandalized the building.
The NYPD recieved verification from Spanish officials on the origin of the graffiti style and the identity of the trio of masked men and then moved in for the arrest.
According to an article published in the New York Post, the investigation found that the three men flew into Newark International Airport on April 8, rented a car, and immediately began vandalizing subway locations.
The 3 suspects were tracked and arrested just 4 days after their stateside vandalism spree started.
