- Noah Syndergaard got the start for the Mets.
- The much-maligned Dom Smith hit a solo HR in the bottom of the second to make it 1-0.
- The red-hot Jeff McNeil stroked an RBI single, and Todd Frazier added an RBI Ground Rule Double to make it 3-0 Mets after two.
- Giants got two back against Thor when Steven Duggar grounded in a run and former St. Johns standout Joe Panik added and RBI single to cut the lead to 3-2, Mets heading to the bottom of the third.
- Bottom of the 4th, Jose Bautista, AKA Joey Bats, smashed a solo HR to make it 4-2 Mets.
- Syndergaard was done after 6 innings, having given up the two runs and striking out 6.
- Drew Smith came on in the top of the 7th and promptly gave up a solo home run to Austin Slater (Howie called it a “Bob Seger Home Run”…he hit it into the wind…get it??) 4-3 Mets in the 7th.
- Todd Frazier gave the Mets a little breathing room with a solo HR in the bottom of the 7th, and the Mets were back up by a couple, 5-3.
- Mets pen finished off the game keeping the Giants at bay, and giving Noah Syndergaard his 9th win of the season.
- The Mets wrap up the 4 game series against the Giants with a 1:10 first pitch at CitiField, Mets on Deck at 12:05
