- Wheeler cruised through the first three innings until the bottom of the 4th. First three men reached in the inning, loading the bases with no one out.
- Johan Camargo grounded into a 1-2-5 Double Play and Wheeler was almost out of the inning.
- Ender Inciarte stroked a soft liner and the Braves had a 1-0 lead.
- Wheeler got Culberson to line out and limit the damage to one run.
- Top 6, Mike Foltynewicz left the game after 5 innings, Jesse Biddle came in. With one out and one on, Brandon Nimmo was hit by a pitch, but not awarded first. Mickey Callaway came out heated and was tossed. Since it was ball 3, Nimmo continued and took ball 4.
- Two on, one out, Asdrubal Cabrera reached on an error.
- Jay Bruce knocked in two runs with a ground rule double and the Mets led 2-1 in the top of the 6th
- Bottom 6, Freddie Freeman stroked a solo home run off of Wheeler to start the inning.
- Ender Inciarte again stroked a soft liner into the outfield grass and another run scored and the Braves reclaimed the lead against Wheeler, 3-2.
- Wheeler loaded the bases and that ended his night. Paul Sewald came on with the bases loaded and two out to face Ozzie Albies who quickly turned on a Sewald pitch and the Braves blew the game wide open with a Grand Slam, 7-2 Atlanta, three of those runs charged to Wheeler.
- The line on Wheeler – 5.2 innings, 8 Hits, 6 earned runs and two strikeouts.
- Nick Markakis added a solo shot against Sewald in the 7th to make it 8-2 Atlanta, which would prove to be the final tally.
