Mets drop their 7th in a row, 4-1 to the Yankees

The Mets once again were unable to score runs for Jacob deGrom as they fell to the Yankees 4-1. The Mets have now lost 7 consecutive games.

deGrom began the game throwing 5 scoreless innings, including the first 3 without allowing a hit. He also had a lead as Brandon Nimmo hit his 8th home run of the season to make it 1-0 in the first inning. In the 6th inning the Yankees were able to load the bases and Aaron Judge hit a sac fly to tie the game at 1. In the 8th inning deGrom allowed a baserunner, then Brett Gardner just barely hit the ball out of Citi Field, putting the Bombers up 3-1. Giancarlo Stanton would hit a solo shot in the 9th to give the Yanks more pad, as they take the victory 4-1.

The Mets and Yankees play game 2 of a 3 game set tomorrow night. 'Mets On Deck' live from Citi Field will begin at 6:05, with the game beginning at 7:15.
