Charles Oakley apparently isn't the only person who earned the wrath of MSG Chairman James Dolan for the embarrassing scene that occurred in the World's Most Famous Arena Wednesday night.
Two days after an incident in which the Knicks great was roughly removed from his seat by a throng of security guards and arrested, Dolan has fired MSG's Senior VP of Security, Frank Benedetto.
DNAinfo New York reports that Benedetto was fired Friday morning. The exact reason for the termination is unclear; an MSG spokesman said it is against policy to comment on such matters.
The website also reports that more security could be fired for the incident.
But the incident has no-doubt embarrassed Dolan and his company, leading many Knicks fans and current and former NBA players to publicly side with Oakley.
The Knicks have maintained that Oakley, a vocal critic of Dolan who was seated just a few rows behind the CEO, was being loud and abusive prior to being removed.
But Oakley has said those allegations are completely false and the scuffle ensued when he began to feel threatened by the eight to 10 security guards that surrounded him as he made his way to his seat.
The former power forward was charged with three misdemeanors and released early Thursday morning.
