Mets Offense Erupts in 14-4 Rout; Cespedes Belts 3 HRs; Harvey Leaves with Tight Hamstring

The New York Mets offense erupted tonight in Philadelphia as they romped the Phillies 13-4 at Citizens Bank Park.


Yoenis Cespedes crushed three home runs and drove in 5 including a first inning 3-run blast which put the Mets ahead and they never looked back. Asdrubal Cabrera went 4/6 with a home run and two RBI's. Jay Bruce drove in a pair on a 2-run single, Travis d'Arnaud went 3/4 with 3 RBI's and a 2-run home run, and Lucas Duda had a 4/6 evening with 2 solo home runs. In total, the Mets scored 14 runs on 20 hits with 7 HRs. 


Matt Harvey got the win but left the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with what the Mets called a 'tight left hamstring'. He finished with a solid line of five and two-thirds innings allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six.
