Following the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by United States forces over the weekend, many Democrats voiced their displeasure with the decision by Donald Trump. One Democrat even went as far as to call the President directly and that was New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Joe Borelli, former New York City Council minority leader, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about how ridiculous he thinks it is to call Trump to complain as the Mayor of NYC.
“You have [Donald Trump’s] number for a real situation, other than that you have the normal chains of communication; he could have issued a press statement,” Borelli told host Larry Mendte. “Why he even had to weigh in on the capture of Maduro is beyond me.”
Borelli thinks Mamdani gained nothing from this decision: “No one cares what the Mayor thinks on this issue; you could have just used the opportunity to just shut the heck up.”
