The latest class of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members will be inducted starting at 8PM Saturday night on Disney+. The ceremony will serve as a celebration of the music’s industry’s greatest stars while highlighting some of the new up and comers who are making their way and might be inducted themselves later on down the road. John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and President of Entertainment Enterprises at iHeartMedia, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the ceremony and what makes it so special.

“Whats really unique about the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony… is that you have in many cases young artists paying tribute to their heroes,” Sykes told host Larry Mendte. “A few years ago Harry Styles came up to pay tribute and sang with Stevie Nicks, obviously there’s the famous moment where Prince got up to play While My Guitar Gently Weeps in honor of George Harrison.”

Sykes talked about some of the performances we’ll see this year: “This is what’s going to happen again this year… for example Joe Cocker has passed but this young incredible artist named Teddy Swims is going to sing Joe’s song; you’re going to have young artists that are going to get up there and play along with Bad Company and Soundgarden.”
