As many people look at the high-profile Election Day races for New York City  Mayor and New Jersey Governor, many other smaller races are also taking place. One of these will be for Nassau County Executive as Bruce Blakeman looks to win as the incumbent and be the first repeat winner following his party winning the White House since 1993. Blakeman spoke about his race with Mendte in the Morning and why he thinks he has the edge over his opponent.

“I think the differences between me and my opponent are very stark,” Blakeman told host Larry Mendte. “He’s for cashless bail, I’m not… and we are the named the safest county in America so I think people feel very safe and secure in Nassau County.”

Blakeman believes his opponent has a warped view of how to run a government: “I haven’t raised taxes one penny in four years, so I guess his idea of good government is to raise taxes, and to support cashless bail.”
