Former New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo was atop the polls on the Democrat side for New York City Mayor before he ever announced he was officially running. Cuomo has continued to garner more steam as well since his announcement and is grabbing more support all the time. Joe Borelli, former New York City Council minority leader, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the current hype around Cuomo’s Mayoral bid.
“Andrew Cuomo, every day, seems to get another endorsement,” Borelli said to host Larry Mendte. “It’s gonna be interesting to see what, if anything, stops that momentum.”
Borelli believes the other Democrats in the running are getting ready to contest the former Governor: “I think the other candidates are lining up some significant dollars to form an independent expenditure or multiple independent expenditures that will mostly be focused on taking down Andrew Cuomo.”
