Mayor Adams is touting low crime numbers and other accomplishments by his administration, while the top ranks of city government face multiple federal investigations.
"Our police officers are working harder than ever to keep New Yorkers safe. More felony crime arrests, more quality of life summonses, and more transit enforcement," Adams said
The mayor's report details a drop in the overall crime rate over the past year, driving by double digit decreases in murders and shootings. Adams also detailed his administration's efforts to clean up the streets and crack down on illegal pot shops.
"The city deserves to be clean, our streets deserve to be clean, housing should be built, and we should ensure that people can see a future," Adams said.
The announcement comes less than a week after Edward Caban resigned as police commissioner following the federal seizure of his phone. There are also separate investigations into deputy mayors and the Adams campaign for mayor.
