After a deadly shooting over the Labor Day weekend at the Caribbean parade, Mayor Eric Adams said its an event that's always been plagued with problems.
"That parade has always attracted a small element of people that wanted to commit violence," Adams said.
A 25-year-old man was killed in the shooting and four others were injured by a gunman who remains on the loose. However, the mayor characterized it as a largely safe event and claims that his administration was "proactive" and carried out a "well-executed plan."
"How do you stop a nut from taking a gun, shooting it to a crowd of five people?" Adams asked.
