Mayor Adams says the federal government needs to step up and address the migrant crisis.
“Today I am calling for a national response to the asylum seeker crisis,” Adams said.
Adams was speaking at a Conference of Mayors in Washington D.C. as New York City has welcomed more than 40,000 migrants in recent months. Last weekend, he visited El Paso to see the asylum seeker crisis up close.
“What I saw was not a state problem or a city problem. It is a national problem, driven by global forces, impacting regular people,” Adams said.
