There’s good news in New York’s fight against Covid, with the latest numbers showing the number of cases may have past its peak.
"The slowdown in new cases gives us a glimmer of hope, but cases still remain high and we are nowhere near the end of the winter surge,” Governor Kathy Hochul said.
Hospitalizations also remain high, but officials say those numbers often lags behind the case numbers. The state’s 7-day positivity rate now stands at 20 percent.
“Please make sure to get your second dose and booster shot. Parents and guardians, the best way to protect our children is to get them vaccinated and boosted, once they're eligible,” Hochul said.
