A new Marist Poll in the race for governor shows Governor Kathy Hochul leading the Democratic field ahead of next year’s election.
In a 4-way race, Hochul gets 36 percent of the vote while Attorney General Letitia James is second at 24 percent. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo gets 19 percent and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams is at 9 percent.
Hochul has the highest favorable rating of all the potential Democratic candidates. The poll also found that 77 percent of New Yorkers don’t want Cuomo to run for office again next year.
