Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that movie theaters in New York City will be able to reopen on Friday, March 5.
The theaters will be limited to 25 percent of capacity, with no more than 50 people per screen. There will be assigned seating and masks will be required, except when a person is eating or drinking.
“As our infection rate continues to fall, and the vaccination rate continues to climb, we will keep reopening different sectors of our state's economy and focus our efforts on building our state back better than it was before,” Governor Cuomo said.
The movie theaters must also meet enhanced air filtration, ventilation and purification standards.
