NYC Has Administered 100,000 Vaccines

Mayor Bill de Blasio says 100,000 New Yorkers have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in the city.

He says that surpasses the goal, and puts the city on track to meet his goal of vaccinating 1 million people in January.

“We feel very good about that goal,” de Blasio said.

The mayor spoke as the next group of New Yorkers became eligible to receive the vaccine. Beginning on Monday, police officers, firefighters, transit workers, teachers and people who are 75 and older can now be vaccinated.

“It's a very exciting moment, a very important moment, a lot of work to do now,” de Blasio said.
