Snow Hits Tri-State Area

It’s going to be a rough Monday on the roads with snow and a wintry mix falling throughout the tri-state area.

The rain will transition to snow throughout the day, with some streets covered in a layer of ice. Northwest New Jersey will get the worst of the storm, along with places like Westchester and Rockland Counties.

New York City is expecting about 1 to 3 inches of snow. Areas north and west could see upwards of 5 inches.

The storm has wreaked havoc at the area airports just as people were returning home from the long Thanksgiving weekend. Hundreds of flights have been delayed or canceled since the weekend.

A snow alert has been issued for New York City and a travel advisory is in place. New Yorkers are urged to take mass transit and alternate side of the street parking has been suspended for the day.
