If there was ever a āgame onā in Washington, weāve seen some serious gloves come off in the last 24-hours. It all began after the closed-door meeting that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had with her Democratic compadres.
As we told you yesterday, the intent of that get-together was for Dems to get on the same page as Pelosi has pushed off the concept of going for impeachment of President Trump. While thereās no āofficialā word about where the party stands ā closer or farther from that end zone ā Pelosi was clear: she believes the President is engaged in a coverup.
Speaking to reporters, Pelosi said that no one is above the law, including the President. āThe fact is, in plain sight, in the public domain, this president is obstructing justice and he's engaged in a cover-up,ā she offered. āAnd that could be an impeachable offense." President Trump later answered that charge from the Rose Garden, noting "I don't do cover-ups."
