Trump “Very Surprised” About Son's Subpoena

Donald Trump, Jr. has been subpoenaed by the GOP-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee. The Committee is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election – and if you were shocked by the news, you’re not alone. President Trump says he was “very surprised” to hear that his “totally exonerated” son is being called to testify.

Speaking at the White House, Trump again slammed the nearly two-year Russia investigation and said he couldn’t believe his son was being called back “after close to 20 hours of telling everybody that would listen about a nothing meeting.” “My son is a very good person, works very hard,” Trump added. "The last thing he needs is Washington, D.C. I think he'd rather not ever be involved.”

No word if Trump, Jr. will fight the subpoena, but when it comes to Special Counsel Robert Mueller testifying in Congress, Trump says Attorney General Bill Barr will decide.
