A week ago, President Trump seemed hopeful – though guarded – about relations with North Korea. He offered a “we’ll see” when asked about the possibilities the Hermit Kingdom would denuke. He noted that the regime needed to “have the right attitude” for further talks. That was a week ago.
Now, North Korean state media says the country's military has tested a new "tactical guided weapon." In fact, diminutive dictator Kim Jong Un reportedly supervised what he called an event of "very weighty significance."
The country's state media says the new weapon system will boost the defense capabilities of the North Korean military. And while there's no word on the exact type of weapon that was tested, it’s not believed to be anything potentially putting the United States at risk. What might? The nuclear facility the North had allegedly shuttered. Just this week, satellite images appear to show a lot of new activity at the site.
