Charges Dismissed Against Warner Wolf

New York sportscasting legend Warner Wolf is happy to say that the criminal mischief charge against him has been dropped.

Wolf was arrested after taking the word “plantation” off the sign of the private gated community in Florida where he lives. He told 710 WOR New York’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning that the prosecutor likely felt his intent in modifying the sign wasn’t criminal, and he had no prior arrests on his record.

“The bottom line is I don’t live on a plantation,” Wolf said.

He said the term "plantation" is offensive, and it bothered him. Wolf said the name has not been put back up on the sign since he pried it off, but he did have to pay some restitution.

“I told the board for two years to get rid of that word plantation. We don’t live on a plantation,” Wolf said.
