President Trump and Hillary Clinton still haven’t gotten over their bitter 2016 campaign, refusing to greet each other at the funeral for former President George H.W. Bush.
Trump shook hands with former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as he was seated at the National Cathedral in Washington. Clinton ignored Trump, sitting motionless and facing forward during the greetings. The president didn’t make any effort to reach out to Clinton either.
There was also a touching moment between former President George W. Bush and Michelle Obama. As Bush was greeting all of the living presidents and first ladies, he slipped Obama a piece of candy. That was a callback to a viral moment during a funeral for Senator John McCain, where Bush was seen giving Obama a piece of candy.
