Last week, a bar in France found themselves becoming the set up to a joke after a young horse got loose from her rider and ran straight for the sports-betting bar located about a mile away from the nearby Chantilly Racecourse.
"She pushed the door open, and raced straight for the betting corner," Stephane Jasmin, the owner of the Chantilly PMU bar, told Ouest France. "We've never seen anything like it."
Security camera footage caught the moments the young horse decided to quench his thirst. The video shows the wild stallion entering the establishment, causing other customers to jump out of their seats to get out of the way of the living, breathing vaudeville joke.
Unfortunately, there was no time for the bartender to ask his equine customer "Why the long face?" During the 15-second clip uploaded to YouTube by Jasmin, the horse can be seen bucking as it runs from one end of the bar to the other, while knocking around a few tables and chairs.
According to Ouest France, the horse's trainer says that particular filly has a "penchant for escape" and made the mad dash for the bar after her rider fell off somewhere between the track and the stables.
Fortunately, the horse was safely recovered in the bar's parking lot. No one was injured in the incident and the horse trotted away, seemingly satisfied in becoming the punchline to every "Horse walks into a bar" joke, ever.
