Matt DelPiano is a Hollywood agent at Creative Artists Agency found himself making a plea to the Thai soccer team to make a movie about what happened. They were dramatically rescued from a flooded cave along with their assistant coach.
He used the same tactic once before when he went to Vermont in 2009 to intercept Richard Phillips, the merchant marine taken hostage by Somali pirates and rescued by Navy SEALs. A book and movie deal followed, with Mr. Hanks, a CAA client, playing Mr. Phillips in the 2013 hit “Captain Phillips.”
