Special Olympian Sings National Anthem

Stefan Xidas sang the national anthem before the Cubs game at Wrigley Field who got the chance after a challenge from the teams front office. "We went to a lot of Cubs games when I was a kid and that had a big impact on me," he said. No stranger to singing the anthem at baseball games, back in 2005 he sang it at a White Sox game during National Association for Down's Syndrome Day.

He's been reaching out to the team every year "We either would get no response, or a letter saying hey, it's all booked up. Try again next year," said Stan Xidas, father.

A few of his lifelong best friends made a video asking Tom Ricketts for the chance to sing the national anthem and the video went viral. They ended up raising over $18,000 for the Special Olympics which was more than triple his goal so the Cubs decided to give a super Cubs fan his dream.
