Dr. Oz Helps Students On Burning Bus

Dr. Mehmet Oz jokes that when he’s around, “accidents happen.”

Oz is being praised for helping teenagers escape from a burning bus on the New Jersey Turnpike on Sunday.

Oz told WOR’s “Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning” that he was driving down to Baltimore when one of the tires pops.  He said other cars are swerving out of the way and then the bus catches on fire.

The kids were from a musical school and had been in New York City to see a Broadway show.

“Try to drag a tuba off a burning bus is not so easy and these teachers were so good with these kids,” Dr. Oz said.

Oz called 9-1-1 and everyone was okay.
