David Foster Launches First U.S. Tour in Eight Years

Legendary songwriter and producer David Foster says great music is still being made.

“I think there’s great music in every decade and I think there’s great music in this decade too,” Foster told WOR’s “Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the morning.”

He specifically mentioned Pink, Rihanna and Justin Bieber as artists who are making great music with great melodies.

“Certainly on Broadway you have to be able to write great melodies.  I have no idea where it comes from, but I’m thrilled when it falls out of me,” Foster said.

Foster is launching his first U.S. tour in eight years.  He uses video clips and tries to take the attendance on a journey that tells the story behind the songs he’s responsible for.

His hits include songs like “Because You Loved Me,” “After the Love is Gone” and “You’re the Inspiration.”

He was also in the studio for Whitney Houston’s rendition of “I Will Always Love You.”  Foster called Houston a once in a generation voice.
