With Election Day less than three month away, that means it’s time for candidates who want to make a splash to do one of two things with statements they made in the past: double down and truly own the sentiment or deny like crazy they ever said it and hope enough voters buy their sincerity. The “deny, deny , deny” trend is especially glaring in the ranks of socialists; whether it be Alexandria Ocasio Cortez saying ‘Woke 1 is stupid," or Wisconsin gubernatorial hopeful Francesca Hong’s sudden decision that Thanksgiving is now her favorite holiday. Jimmy Failla is the host of the eponymous “Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla," heard weeknights at 9pm on WOR; he joined 710 WOR’s Curtis Sliwa and Larry Mendte in the Morning for a full hour to rave about America and rant against the politicians who want to run the place.
Failla told Curtis and Larry why AOC’s attempt at revisionist history actually signals more of what lies ahead: “Everyone is running for office in the Democratic party on things you would traditionally pay someone to destroy- meaning, if you said something insane in college, like, ‘America deserved 9/11’- before you launch your campaign, someone is paid in your research team to go find that tape and buy it for a good deal of money or get an NDA out of the person. But they’re actually campaigning on this, you know. They’re trying to do the walk-back thing, you saw the AOC [comment]. But when you say to us AOC, ‘Woke 1 was crazy’- we all saw the comment, we all talked about it- but what you’re basically saying is yes I was impressionable to groupthink, but you’re also admitting that means you’re vulnerable to the next round of idiotic groupthink, which is going on right now- abolish prisons and abolish ICE and, of course, socialism.”
Failla then pointed out the double-standard that most people miss when they rush to the defense of socialism: “You know the old cliché “champagne socialism”, like, you can give me Hasan Piker as an example. This guy’s walking around in $10,000 suits. He’s obviously not looking to do the common-man thing, when we’re all divvying up the pot, okay. You’re not all going to wet your beak, as they say in ‘The Sopranos’, and that’s the point.”
