The classic car market is always one that has its suitors but it can be difficult to figure out when certain cars become classics and which models will stand the test of time. A new generation of vehicles is starting to hit the market with the ‘classic’ tag, and trends are pointing to a handful of models that are the hottest. Ron Ananian, host of ‘The Car Doctor’ on the iHeartRadio app, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about cars from the 1980s being the new classics and what vehicles you should be looking for.
“Cars from the 80s are 35-40 years old… they’ve officially become classic,” Ananian told host Larry Mendte. “They’ve aged into it…Eldorados, Rivieras, Lincoln Towncars… the fox body Mustang, IROC-Z Camaro… early Toyota Supras and the Aries K car.”
Ananian explained part of the reason why cars from the 80s are so hot on the market right now: “Here’s the beauty of an 80s car -- the engine bays are so big you can slide a modern-day power train into that… and have the look of the 80s with the reliability of a modern-day automobile.”
