In the race to become New York City's next mayor, candidates are actively engaging with Jewish voters during the Jewish High Holidays. Democratic frontrunner Zohran Mamdani, former Governor Andrew Cuomo, and current Mayor Eric Adams attended Rosh Hashanah services in New York City on Tuesday.

According to the latest Marist poll, Mamdani and Cuomo are tied at 35 percent among Jewish voters. The poll shows Mamdani leading the overall race with 45 percent support from likely voters, while Cuomo trails with 24 percent. Curtis Sliwa and Eric Adams follow with support in the high teens and single digits, respectively.

Mamdani enjoys strong backing from Democrats, with 58 percent support, while Cuomo receives only 23 percent from this group. Sliwa garners significant support among Republicans. If Adams were to drop out, Mamdani would still maintain a lead over Cuomo, though the gap would narrow.

The poll also indicates that 63 percent of likely voters believe Mamdani will win the election, while only 20 percent think Cuomo will emerge victorious. Despite the competition, the candidates' efforts to connect with Jewish voters underscore the importance of this demographic in the upcoming election.
