The New York Young Republican Club will honor conservative activist Charlie Kirk with a vigil tonight at Madison Square Park in Manhattan. The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. around the park's reflecting pools. Stefano Forte, the club's president, stated that Kirk inspired members to actively engage with the community and influence voters. Forte emphasized that young Republicans aim to spread the message that they "are all Charlie Kirk now."
Kirk, a prominent conservative commentator and founder of 'Students For Trump,' was shot and killed on Wednesday during an event on the campus of Utah Valley University in Utah. His influence was significant in mobilizing young voters, particularly during President Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. Alex Fahmy, president of the Palm Beach Young Republican Club, described Kirk as "the voice" of a generation and a pivotal figure in the conservative movement.
The vigil in New York is part of a broader response from young Republican groups across the country who are mourning Kirk's death and celebrating his contributions to their cause.
