As Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency continues to look into wasted spending, the finding that FEMA allegedly spent $59 million in New York City to house illegal migrants in city hotels, rather than use the money to assist Americans suffering from natural disasters, may be the most shocking. Speaking in the Oval Office Tuesday afternoon, Musk told reporters that he plans to continue stepping on toes as he looks into what the government could spend elsewhere. One of Musk’s and Trump’s biggest supporters is New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino (R-19), who was named City Council minority whip when Joe Borelli stepped down last month. Paladino appeared on 710 WOR’s Mendte in the Morning program to express her displeasure that FEMA didn’t put displaced North Carolinians up in a midtown hotel when they needed the assistance after Hurricane Helene.
“We could have housed the people of those small towns in North Carolina for several months here, especially with holiday time,” Paladino offered to host Larry Mendte. “Look, Elon is doing his absolute, what he said he was going to do, and Trump is following through on what he was going to do. There’s much more coming, so everybody better buckle up, buttercup, because this is the way it goes and we’re holding true, Trump is holding true to his word, and that’s it.”
Paladino says she’s enjoying watching the Democrats panic as Trump puts his agenda in place in Washington: “What I want everybody to do is sit back, get yourselves a bag of popcorn and enjoy the show, because this is literally the taking down of the Democratic party, but they killed themselves. They shot themselves in the foot, and now you have somebody in there who’s exposing them who learned his lesson his first four years, take a four-year break to come back and realize what he did wrong was trust the wrong people… it’s a whole new ballgame, and the Democrats are losing their minds.”
