The pressure for Adams to resign is growing after the U.S. Attorney on Thursday charged Adams in a five count indictment. It accuses him of taking lavish gifts and illegal campaign contributions from the government of Turkey.
Adams is refusing to resign and says he'll continue working on behalf of the 8.3 million people in New York City. He's asking New Yorkers to wait and hear his side of the story.
Adams is the first sitting mayor in New York City's history to be indicted. He was being arraigned on Friday.
