Trump Holds Major Rally In Nassau County

Supporters of former President Donald Trump began filling the parking lot at the Nassau Coliseum early on Wednesday, ahead of a major rally that night.

"He truly loves this country. Nothing about him is fake," one person told WOR's Natalie Migliore.

Officials said 60,000 people had registered for the event, which comes just days after an attempted assassination at Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach.

"He says it like it is and that's the type of people we need," a supporter said.

Authorities promised that Nassau County would be the safest place in America. Drivers were warned to expect traffic and road closures in the area because of the rally and increased security. They encouraged people to avoid the entire area if possible.

Hofstra University announced that all classes after 1 p.m. would be remote.
