Mayor Eric Adams is launching a new rat mitigation effort in New York City that he's calling "The Rat Pack."
"You don't have to be Frank Sinatra in the crew. It's just a different type of leader to fight the rats, and we want you to join up and become a member of our Rat Pack," Mayor Adams said.
To become a member, Adams says New Yorkers will have to attend a two-hour New York City Department of Health Rat Academy session on how to deal with the problem. They'll also have to attend a rat mitigation event and they'll have to participate in a rat walk.
"This is how we get it done, how to shut them down, and we want to keep it from happening again with rodents taking over the streets of our city," Adams said.
