Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning talked with George Shea, the co-founder of Major League Eating, about the absence of 16-time champion Joey Chestnut at the 4th of July Hotdog eating contest.
George said, "Joey Chestnut has decided to eat hotdogs with the troops at Fort Bliss in Texas, which is a terrific tribute to the armed forces. Major League Eating decided to concede on the exclusivity of Joey's Impossible meat deal and invited him to join in on the July 4th contest, but still couldn't reach an agreement. But this opens the door for the next tier of eaters. We have James Webb from Australia, who has won 6 major league eating championships, and Patrick 'DEEP DISH' Bertoletti from Chicago, who gained fame for being the first to finish the Sasquatch Burger Eating Contest at the Bigfoot Lodge Cafe in Memphis, Tennessee. Both men are considered to be the favorites.
