Rangers Blow Chance To Clinch Series

The Rangers lost to the Carolina Hurricanes 4 to 1 in Game 5 of their series, missing a chance to advance in the playoffs.

A Jacob Trouba shorthanded goal in the second period gave the Rangers a 1 to 0 lead, but the Hurricanes rallied for four goals in the third to win the game and avoid elimination. That sets up a Game 6 in Carolina on Thursday night.

The Rangers lead the series 3 games to 2.
