Mayor Adams Demands Help From Feds On Migrant Crisis

Mayor Eric Adams is again calling on the White House to help New York City deal with the migrant crisis.

More than 100,000 people seeking asylum have arrived in the five boroughs and the cost keeps increasing

“I really need New Yorkers to understand: we've got a $5 billion deficit that we have to take out of the household of New York City. It's unacceptable,” Mayor Adams said.

Adams has ordered city agencies to cut their budgets by five percent because of the cost of dealing with the crisis. He said even more cuts may be needed in the coming months.

“It's going to hurt a lot. It's not going to only hurt from what's happening, it's going to hurt because we are moving at such a good rate in the city,” Adams said.
