Poll: Hochul’s Favorability Falls To New Low

New Yorkers are increasingly turning against Governor Kathy Hochul, even after electing her to a full term in November.

A new Siena College poll shows 45 percent of voters now view her unfavorably, compared with 40 percent who have a favorable view of her. Just 39 percent think she’s effective and only 40 percent believe she’s a strong leader.

“Nearly half of New Yorkers say Hochul is out of touch with average New Yorkers, including a narrow plurality of Democrats,” pollster Steve Greenberg said.

The same poll found that 56 percent of New York Democrats want President Biden to run for a second term, while 40 percent say they would prefer another candidate.
