Suspect Arrested In Killing Of Bodega Worker

Police have arrested a suspect for the killing of a bodega clerk on the Upper East Side one week ago.

“We were able to apprehend a person who was wanted on a homicide and he was a bad person,” Mayor Adams said.

A tip led police to Kimond Cyrus, who is also suspected in the robbery of three bodegas. He’s being arraigned on Friday on charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Mayor Adams said identifying Cyrus was difficult because he was wearing a mask.

“This is what we are seeing over and over again in our robbery patterns. If he didn't have this, then that crime stopper tip have allowed us to be here days earlier,” Adams said.
