Sayfullo Saipov was convicted of using a rented truck to mow down bikes and pedestrians on a bike path. The same jury that found him guilty will now decide whether he should receive the death penalty.
Prosecutors in closing arguments of the penalty phase will argue on Tuesday that Saipov remains a danger, even in prison.Ā His mother took the stand and asked jurors to spare her sonās life.
